Dear David, I did say I would come out to you this week but the week is not yet over! My wife was admitted to hospital for 2 days this week to undergo surgery so I have been delayed in getting over to you. You called me over the extremely wet bank holiday weekend to which you were warmly greeted. A few days later I came over to view the problem with your roof. On my arrival you informed me that things seemed to be fine now. Before leaving I thought it only sensible and especially since I came out especially to see you to at least have a look. The problem was diagnosed. Photographs were taken and emailed over to you immediately. We like to do that so at least you can see whats really going on up there and in addition you can store them for reference or even obtain additional quotes with them. I appreciated that you did not want to spend additional money on your property seeing as though you were in the process of selling it. You appeared to be a nice man so taking into account your situation I offered to do the work for a small fee of £90 including materials. We agreed that I would return during dry weather since cement work was required. We have experienced a mixture of wet and dry weather this week so this has hindered us in carrying out the work. My 'promise' (singular) was not yet broken and therefore you have 'jumped the gun' somewhat. In future I would suggest, out of courtesy pick up the telephone and give thought before you write something publicly as this could be damaging not only to the recipient but also to yourself.
